Light+Shadow Fine Art proudly presents our Automotive and Motor-racing Collection by American automotive artist Thierry Thompson. The artist's photo-realistic creations are generated from a powerful combination of experience as a mechanic, fabricator and engineer with sophisticated formula and gran turismo race cars, intense observation with drawing and painting skills utilizing mathematics, ellipse drawing templates and traditional drafting methods, masterfully finishing the artwork with the Paasche AB, Thayer & Chandler Vega 1500 and Iwata Takumi Custom Micron airbrushes.

Following a career in engineering in various motor racing classes, Thierry enjoyed a successful career in communication arts, where he worked with all of the automotive and aerospace industries and their marketing and advertising agencies. For his international clients, Thierry created countless unique images of the automobile, from concept cars, line and tone graphics to engaging full-color illustrations for new model releases and marketing, including technically precise and detailed exploded and ghosted views that expose automobile and aerospace structures and inner workings.

Thierry has been creating automobiles, motor racing, aviation and aerospace as a subject professionally for over forty-five years. The artist's creations hang in some of the world's most significant fine art collections, ranging from the Mercedes-Benz and Porsche corporate collections and the Pentagon in Washington, DC, to international private and corporate collections.

In his words, "The object of my art is not to reproduce reality, but to create a reality of a much greater intensity. To represent not only the outward, superficial appearance of my subject matter but their concealed significance. In my created imagery, I hope to reveal the narrative embedded in each artwork's two-dimensional restrictions".

We are located a few steps away from the azure blue Pacific Ocean, Carmel's famed romantic white sand beaches and California's Pacific coast. As Thierry states, "The Monterey Peninsula, Big Sur, Point Lobos and Carmel by the Sea are the greatest meeting of land and water on the face of the earth. The Peninsula and the surrounding region are breathtaking and inspiring for an artist".
